Terms of Service
Welcome to Once Upon a Voice. By accessing our website and enrolling in our programs, you agree to the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully before enrolling. If you do not agree, please do not proceed with enrollment.
1. Intellectual Property
All content on the Once Upon a Voice website and within our program materials — including literacy-based activities, resources, and curriculum — is the exclusive property of Once Upon a Voice and its licensors. You are granted a limited license to view and use materials solely for personal, non-commercial participation in our program. You may not reproduce, sell, distribute, or publicly display any program content without written permission.
2. Nature of Service
Once Upon a Voice offers literacy-based group speech-language enrichment sessions for children. Our program is designed to supplement — not replace — any individualized speech therapy a child may be receiving. We are not a federally or state-mandated special education service, nor do we provide diagnostic or medically necessary therapeutic services.
If you have concerns about your child's communication development, we encourage you to consult with a licensed speech-language pathologist or your child's pediatrician for a comprehensive evaluation.
3. Program Schedule
Once Upon a Voice sessions are offered throughout the school year, generally from August through May. Our schedule aligns with local school calendars. Sessions are not held during winter break, spring break, or other recognized school holidays. Families will be notified of the program calendar at the start of each school year.
4. Payment Terms
Monthly Plan: Families enrolled in the Monthly Plan agree to pay $85 per month of programming in a given month. For families who join mid-year, monthly charges will be prorated based on the remaining months of the program.
Annual Plan: Families who choose the Annual Plan make a single upfront payment of $765 for the full August–May school year. This plan includes a 10% discount on the total program cost. Payment is due in full at the time of enrollment.
Late Payments: If a monthly payment is more than 14 days past due, Once Upon a Voice reserves the right to suspend access to the program until the account is brought current.
Refunds: Once Upon a Voice does not generally offer refunds for payments made. However, at our discretion, we may refund any prepaid amounts for the period following an effective separation from the program. All approved refunds are subject to a 5% processing fee to cover non-refundable payment processor charges. For example, a refund on the $765 annual plan would include a deduction of approximately $38.25.
5. Withdrawal and Separation
Voluntary Withdrawal: To withdraw your child from the program, we require written notice at least 14 days before the next billing date. Notices received fewer than 14 days in advance may result in a charge for the following month.
Involuntary Separation: Once Upon a Voice reserves the right to separate a child from the program due to non-payment, failure to comply with program policies, or behavior that is consistently disruptive or harmful to the group. Behavior-related dismissal will only occur after documented support measures and parent communication have taken place (see Section 6).
Program Cancellation: Each program location requires a minimum of three (3) enrolled children to proceed. If minimum enrollment is not met by the program start date, the session at that location will be canceled, and all families will receive a full refund of their enrollment fee and any prepaid session costs.
6. Participation and Behavior
Once Upon a Voice is a group enrichment program. Children are expected to participate meaningfully, follow age-appropriate group directions, and interact respectfully with peers and staff. Our team will use positive supports — including visual cues, verbal reminders, and reinforcement strategies — before reaching out to families about concerns.
If concerns persist, the following process applies:
First Notice: A written email to the parent or guardian describing the observed behavior and the support strategies used.
Second Notice: A follow-up email indicating that continued concerns may result in dismissal from the program.
Dismissal: Upon a third documented incident, Once Upon a Voice may revoke enrollment. Families will be notified in writing, and a prorated refund will be issued for any unused prepaid sessions.
7. Your Content
If you choose to share any content (photos, videos, written materials) through our platform or communications, you grant Once Upon a Voice a non-exclusive, worldwide license to use, reproduce, and distribute that content in connection with our program. Your content must not infringe on any third party's rights. We reserve the right to remove submitted content at any time.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
Once Upon a Voice services are provided "as is." We make no express or implied warranties regarding outcomes, results, or the suitability of our program for any particular child's needs.
9. Limitation of Liability
Once Upon a Voice, including its staff and representatives, shall not be held liable for any loss or damage arising from participation in or use of our program, except where required by law.
10. Indemnification
By enrolling in our program, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Once Upon a Voice from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your breach of these terms.
11. Updates to These Terms
Once Upon a Voice may update these terms from time to time. Continued enrollment in the program following any updates constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms. We encourage families to review these terms periodically.
12. Entire Agreement
These terms constitute the complete agreement between Once Upon a Voice and enrolled families regarding program participation and supersede any prior communications or understandings on these matters.
